or the grave of current sailing

Do you remember the day when you looked at the sky with a checkerboard dotted with white clouds resembling buns? It is this cumulus cloud or cumulus clouds that is what every pilot wants to see when boarding a plane before the flight. In ideal conditions, the cumulus marks us places of thermal convection, where the air rises due to heating from the ground, and therefore also places where we can gain height thanks to these rising currents. Thanks to the use of these currents, we are then able to fly at distances of hundreds of kilometers, in European conditions even 1000 kilometers. Rising currents do not always have to be marked cumulus, which is why it is often not so easy to estimate the possible places of their occurrence. IN  At the same time, weather variability sometimes plays a big role, sometimes even in a relatively small area of the country. The conditions for the formation of thermal currents are usually different in the plains, mountains, hilly terrain, wind, humidity, thermal stratification and many other factors play a role. It is therefore necessary to constantly examine the current situation during the flight through the landscape.

Once we can find the rising current, the best technique to use it is to circle it. Rising currents reach speeds of up to 5m / s,
